PRINCETON/HOLDEN – Walter W. Haskins, 68, of Brunswick, New York, formerly of Princeton and Holden, died at home on Sunday, July 10, 2005, after an illness.

His wife, Priscilla A. (St. George) Haskins, died in 1978. He leaves his fiancee with whom he lived, Barbara Nobles; five children, Richard W. Haskins of Sutton, Lori A. Burke of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, Donna G. Gentile of Auburn, Travis Haskins and Abigail M. Haskins, both of Sterling; a brother, Richard A. Haskins of Sutton; a sister, Lillian G. Parker of Sutton; 5 grandchildren; nephews and nieces; and his former wife, Kathleen Haskins of Sterling. He was born and raised in Princeton, son of Clarence O. and Gertrude L. (Wilson) Haskins, and lived in Holden 25 years, before moving to Brunswick 10 years ago.

Mr. Haskins managed the Brick Yard at Kesseli & Morse Company in Worcester where he worked for over 20 years, retiring in 1997. He was a graduate of the first class from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden and later served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local 170 in Worcester. He enjoyed country music and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

The funeral service for Mr. Haskins will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, in the Chaffin Congregational Church, 155 Shrewsbury Street, Holden. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Connor Lane, Princeton. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
