Biography
 
 
 HOLDEN - David R. Landgren, Sr., 74, of Glenwood Street, passed away at home on Friday, July 12, 2013. He was born in Holden, son of Clifford and Doris (Sjolander) Landgren, and lived most of his life in Holden.
 
 
 David graduated from Holden High School in 1956. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy aboard destroyer USS John W. Weeks during the Vietnam Era and was awarded the Navy Expeditionary Medal. David worked for Allmerica Financial, formerly State Mutual, for 20 years retiring from the security department.
 
 
 He leaves his wife of 29 years, Carol A. (Harrison) Landgren; five sons, David R. Landgren, Jr., Verlon Thompson, William Thompson, David Thompson and Kenon Thompson; two daughters, Martha Stewart and Vickie Savage; a sister, Nancy Grant; a niece; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
 
 
 Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, at the funeral home, followed by interment in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
