Biography
WEST BOYLSTON – Deborah L. (Cunha) McAloney, 58, of Horseshoe Drive, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at UMass Memorial Healthcare, University Campus. Born and raised in Taunton, Debbie was the daughter of Roger and Patricia (Johnson) Cunha and lived 27 years in West Boylston.
She was a graduate of Taunton High School. Debbie worked most of her career in the biotech industry as a quality assurance specialist. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of West Boylston where she volunteered countless hours and served on several committees including the bereavement committee.
Debbie will be remembered by her family and close friends for her unassuming, gentle and kind nature. She met everyone with a smile. She enjoyed cooking and loved caring for the needs of others. Debbie’s last expression of care and gift of love was to the people who will benefit from her organ donation.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, John R. McAloney; two brothers, John P. Cunha and his wife Lyn of Middleborough and Jeff Cunha and his fiancée Darlene Crossman of Taunton; her sister, Nancy E. Kelleher and her husband Robert of Wareham; her mother-in-law, Joyce B. McAloney of Taunton; her brother-in-law, James T. McAloney and his wife Deborah of South Windsor, CT; her sister-in-law, Joanne Larrimore and her husband Andrew of Taunton; her nephews, Eric Larrimore, James T. McAloney, Christopher Cunha and Brennan Letendre; her nieces, Dr. Ashley Larrimore, Sarah E. McAloney, Megan Cunha, Katherine Cunha, Kara Letendre, Sarah Kelleher, Megan Kelleher and Michelle Kelleher.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A funeral service celebrating Debbie’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 3, at the First Congregational Church of West Boylston, 26 Central Street. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Church Street, West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Debbie’s memory to the First Congregational Church of West Boylston, Collation Fund, 26 Central Street, West Boylston, MA 01583.
