Biography
FITCHBURG/LEOMINSTER – Alice G. (Peters) Hawkins, 86, of Fitchburg and Leominster died peacefully on Tuesday, January 20 at Life Care Center of Leominster. Alice was born in Leominster, the daughter of Henry and Susan (Verg) Peters, and lived in Leominster and Florida before moving to Fitchburg in 2010.
Her husband of 35 years, Selvin H. Hawkins, died in 2010. She is survived by her children, Ann Marie Graves and her husband, Robert of Fitchburg, Lionel C. Cloutier Jr. and his wife, Cindy of Winchendon and Constance Taylor and her husband, Michael of Richmond, IN; her brother, Ralph Peters; two sisters, Susan and Patricia Peters; her step-children, Nancy and Richard Hawkins and Sheila Cromm; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Alice was predeceased by her daughter Marjorie Perham.
Alice worked for ITT Suprenant Cable Co. in Clinton for over 20 years. After retirement her and her husband Selvin moved to Florida where they spent several years. Alice was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leominster, as well as a life time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, Eugene M. Connor Post 193in Wichendon. She enjoyed spending time at the Leominster Senior Center where she would knit and crochet and had many dear friends.
Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are under the care of Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling.
