WORCESTER – André “Andy” C. Blais, 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 20, 2019 under the loving care of his family and the dedicated and compassionate staff at the Christopher House in Worcester. Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, André was the son of Raymond J. and Agnes F. (Munroe) Blais and lived in Auburn before moving to Worcester in 1967.
André was a graduate of Auburn High School and worked many years at Smith Valve Co. in Northborough. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church in Worcester and the Knights of Columbus. He was a big fan and enjoyed following his beloved Boston Red Sox.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife of 51 years, Judith M. (Aquino) Blais; a daughter, Jeannine M. Fitzgerald and her husband, David of Worcester; a son, Paul A. Blais of Sturbridge; a brother, Jacques Blais of Worcester; 3 grandchildren, Erin, Colin and Quinlan Fitzgerald; nephews and nieces. Andre is predeceased by three brothers, Edwin, Emile and Raymond Blais.
Relatives and Friends are invited to visit with André’s family from 3 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
