Ann (Pedone) Trotsky

WORCESTER – Ann F. (Pedone) Trotsky, age 98, passed away peacefully of natural causes in her home on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Southgate at Shrewsbury, surrounded by the warmth and loving presence of her family. Born in Worcester, Ann was the daughter of James and Rosa (Simone) Pedone and remained a proud, lifelong resident of Massachusetts.

A woman of effortless natural beauty, grace, and boundless warmth, Ann possessed an extraordinary gift for connecting with people, especially children, whom she adored more than anything in the world. She carried a quiet elegance that needed no adornment; she rarely wore makeup or jewelry, often reminding those around her, "Why do I need a lot of jewelry? I have my four precious diamonds: my children." Known affectionately as “Nina” by those closest to her heart, her home was always immaculate and vibrant, filled with an abundance of good food, laughter, hospitality, and unconditional love.

Ann will be lovingly missed and remembered by her three sons, Steven Trotsky and his wife, Becky of Siesta Key, Florida; John Trotsky and his wife, Katie of Marblehead; and Michael Trotsky and his wife, Amy of Belmont; and her daughter, Dr. Lora Trotsky and her husband, Dr. Andrew Kotin of Shrewsbury. She also leaves behind her six cherished grandchildren, Jeffrey, Will and his wife, Victoria, Alyssa, Maxx, Sarah, and Benjamin, who brought immense joy to her life and will forever carry her spirit forward.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, David M. Trotsky, who passed away in 2015, as well as her seven siblings: Joseph, Giacomo (Jack), Angelo (Spike), Bartolomeo (Bart), Clementina (Nellie), James (Junie), and Anthony.

Family will gather for a private graveside service at B’nai B’rith Cemetery in Worcester. Ann's family invites everyone to gather for a Memorial Observance Reception beginning at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 30 at Southgate at Shrewsbury, 30 Julio Drive, Shrewsbury. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ann’s honor may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (www.dana-farber.org), the family’s favored charity.
