DUDLEY – Arthur Z. Greenseid, age 80, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, surrounded by the loving presence of his family.
Born in Joplin, Missouri, he was the son of Joseph and Sylvia (Green) Greenseid. Art graduated from Nottingham High School in Syracuse, attended Onondaga Community College, and earned a degree in Business Administration and teaching credentials from Nichols College. He later earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Anna Maria College. Art also proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, earning the rank of Sergeant as a Radio Operator in Cam Rahn Bay, Vietnam.
His professional life was marked by a deep commitment to education and his community. After graduating from Nichols College, he returned to work there as a recruiter and the Director of Admissions. Even after moving on to other roles, he remained an active member of the Nichols Alumni Association, giving back by volunteering at phone-a-thons and the annual golf tournament.
Art and Bobbie settled in Dudley in 1971. He worked for many years as a High School Business Teacher and Guidance Counselor at Tourtellotte Memorial High School (TMHS). Beyond his professional role, Art’s giving spirit was evident through his work as a softball coach and his role in creating the school’s Project Graduation program. He spent countless hours watching and supporting sports programs at both Tourtellotte and Nichols with his family by his side.
As a dedicated member of the Congregation Beth Israel synagogue, Art was an active participant in the Brotherhood, serving as its Treasurer for many years. He also shared his knowledge by serving as a substitute teacher in the Hebrew School when needed.
Art will be lovingly missed and remembered by his devoted wife of 54 years, Roberta “Bobbie” (Wasser) Greenseid of Dudley; his daughter, Sherri Berggren and her husband, Jeff of Alexandria, Virginia; his son, Joseph Greenseid and his wife, Jessica of Ellicott City, Maryland; his sister, Suggie Brumberger of Saratoga Springs, New York; and his cherished grandchildren, Tanner, Mila, and Lily.
Family and friends will gather to honor Art’s memory at his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Congregation Beth Israel, 15 Jamesbury Drive, Worcester. Interment will follow at B’nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. Johns Road, Worcester.
Following the burial, the family will return to Beth Israel until 2:00 PM for a gathering in Art's memory. Bobbie will be sitting Shiva at her home in Dudley from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Monday, April 20, and Tuesday, April 21. Please reach out to the family directly if you require the address for the Shiva.
