Princeton – Beatrice M. Sarty, 95, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Worcester, she was the devoted daughter of the late William C. and Bernice M. (Haverstock) Sarty. A proud member of the Commerce High School Class of 1947, Beatrice built a life marked by grace, service, and quiet strength.
She resided in Worcester for much of her life before settling in Princeton in 1996, where she remained for nearly three decades. Her professional career spanned 50 years as a legal secretary with the firm of O’Connell, Mirick and DeMallie, from which she retired in 1997. Her dedication and meticulous work earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Beatrice’s unwavering Christian faith was the foundation of her life. A lifelong Baptist, she was an active and devoted member of Burncoat Street Baptist Church, where she served as financial secretary, sang in the choir, and participated in the Women’s Club. Later in life, she became a beloved member of the First Baptist Church of Holden, where she formed lasting friendships that enriched her final years.
Beatrice will be remembered with love and admiration by her nephews: Mark Vaughan of Rutland; Glenn Vaughan and his wife, Mary, of Hampstead, MD; and Bruce Vaughan of Charlestown. She also leaves behind five great-nephews and one great-niece. She was predeceased by her brother, William R. Sarty, and her sisters, Gladys C. Vaughan, Doris R. Sarty, June DuPre, and Hazel P. Sawin.
Beatrice’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Jennifer Hudson for the compassionate and devoted care she provided during Beatrice’s final days.
