SHREWSBURY – Bonnie May (Reid) Prescott, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester, surrounded by compassion and care.

Born in Worcester, Bonnie was the daughter of the late David J. and Pauline M. (Horgan) Reid. She was educated in Worcester Public Schools and graduated from Wachusett Regional High School before continuing her education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

In 1961, Bonnie married the love of her life, Wayne A. Prescott, and together they made their home in Holden, where they shared many happy years devoted to family, community, and civic life.

Bonnie was a woman deeply committed to her family and community. While her greatest joy was caring for her home and family as a devoted homemaker, she also worked for several years at Talbots, where she enjoyed meeting and helping others.

Throughout her life, Bonnie generously dedicated her time and talents to numerous organizations and causes that enriched the Holden and Worcester communities. She was confirmed and married at the First Congregational Church of Holden and was most recently a member of the First Unitarian Church of Worcester.

Bonnie served in many leadership roles over the years, reflecting her passion for public service and community involvement. She was President of the Holden District Hospital Auxiliary from 1981 to 1983, President of the Holden Garden Club from 1986 to 1987, Chairman of the Holden Historic Commission from 1993 to 1995, President of the Worcester Foundation for Biomedical Research from 1994 to 1997, and President of the Holden Woman’s Club from 1997 to 1999. She also served as Chairman of the Holden Republican Town Committee from 2004 to 2006, was involved with Preservation Worcester, participated in numerous fundraising activities throughout the region, and faithfully served for many years as a Registrar of Voters. Bonnie’s dedication, leadership, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Laura Prescott of Michigan. In addition to her husband and parents, Bonnie was predeceased by her brother, David Reid.
