PAXTON - Brian J. Gallivan, 47, passed away suddenly on Monday, November 2, 2026, at his home.
Born and raised in Worcester, Brian was the son of Kevin P. Gallivan and Mary-Jo (Kenneally) Valois. He attended Worcester Public Schools and graduated from Saint Peter-Marian High School, Class of 1997, where he earned Central MA All Star Honors in soccer. He continued his education at Anna Maria College, where he was a four-year starter in soccer, graduating in 2001. During his time at Anna Maria, Brian interned with Fidelity Investments, an opportunity that ultimately led to a full-time position. Over the course of his 25-year career with Fidelity, Brian built a distinguished career, most recently serving as Director of Finance.
In 2001, Brian stopped into Cactus Pete's Restaurant in Worcester, where he met Marybeth Tremba, who was working there at the time. What began as love at first sight became a connection between two souls who were simply meant to find each other. The two married on June 25, 2002 and after initially making their home in Worcester, Brian and Marybeth eventually settled in Paxton. They were truly inseparable, sharing every joy, challenge and milestone side by side. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in a deep understanding of one another, and created a family shaped by love, support and humor.
Brian's greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a loyal friend who treasured the time spent with those closest to him. His beloved son, Brady, was truly his best friend and constant companion. Their shared love of Duke basketball, college football Saturdays and Wings at their favorite Worcester County establishments bonded them as father and son.
An avid golfer, Brian especially enjoyed playing at his home course, Kettle Brook Golf Club in Paxton. He was a passionate sports fan, particularly when it came to New England teams, and took pride in running the family's fantasy sports leagues. He also cherished family trips and traditions, including visits to Cape Cod, Westerly, Saratoga, and Lake George. Brian especially enjoyed opening weekend of March Madness, otherwise known as “Brian’s Christmas”, surrounded by his closest friends and family. His warmth, enthusiasm, and love for those around him will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Brian leaves behind his beloved wife, Marybeth A. (Tremba) Gallivan, and his cherished son and best friend, Brady K. Gallivan, both of Paxton; his parents, Kevin P. Gallivan and his wife, Lori, of Paxton, and Mary-Jo (Kenneally) Valois and her husband, Norman, of Worcester; his siblings, Patrick C. Gallivan and his wife, Erin, of Auburn, Anthony M. Pacheco and his wife, Elizabeth, of Northborough, Kyla M. Pacheco and her partner Jared Andrews of Sutton, Stefanie E. Katz and her husband, Elliot, of Arizona, and Elizabeth A. Pitcher and her husband, Lawrence, of North Carolina. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Jonathan Montgomery, Adam Montgomery, Alice Tremba, Tyler Tremba, Sydney Tremba, Austin Tremba, Owen Gallivan, Lily Gallivan, Francesca Pacheco, Zoey Ethington, and Daniel Katz; as well as many aunts and uncles, extended family members, and countless dear friends. He will also be lovingly remembered by his faithful canine companion, Teddy.
