Brian J. Morey

Brian J. Morey passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and children. He is survived by his wife, Carol A. Morey of Holden, MA; sons, Adam Morey of South Carolina, Erik Gerhardt of Rutland, MA, Daniel Gerhardt and his wife, Dziem of San Jose, CA, Benjamin Gerhardt and his partner, Nicole of St. Augustine, FL; daughters, Alison Morey and her partner, Adam DeWitt of Rutland, MA, Jennifer Dupuis and her husband, Gary Dupuis of Holden, MA; grandchildren, Olivia, Emilee, Saylor, Cole, Leah, Norah, Chip, Harley, and a new grandson to arrive in November; a brother, Dana Morey and his wife, Carol from Charlton, MA; his sister, Sandra Lord and her husband, Charlie (predeceased) of Princeton, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

Brian was a kind soul who loved to travel, spend time at the beach, drive and fix cars, smoke his fine cigars, and drink a nice glass of scotch after a hard day’s work. Brian spent 4 years serving in the United States Navy before beginning a career as an optician. Brian was a jack-of-all trades, and he built his own house, fixed his own cars (and everyone else’s in the extended family), fixed appliances, wired electrical, you name it. Brian was always willing to help and was fiercely loyal to his family and friends. He was a social butterfly who could talk and listen to just about anyone. But most of all, Brian loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren. He was the most loyal and heartwarming grandpa his grandchildren could ask for. He was very involved in their lives, and he will be missed dearly. 

Brian will be laid to rest privately at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.
