WORCESTER – Carole (Jacobs) Jacobson, 90, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late J. Donald “Don” Jacobson, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Rachael “Rae” (Jaffe) and John Jacobs. Carole graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester in 1954 and married the love of her life, Don, in 1955.

She began as a devoted housewife, raising her family, before stepping into a career in retail and then a long career in the medical field. She proudly worked in a pediatrician’s office, where she loved caring for children, getting to know their families, and watching them grow up.Carole saw the best in everything and everyone. Completely selfless, she turned strangers into friends, talked to anyone who would listen, and took a genuine interest in the lives of the people she loved, and of everyone she met. She was truly loved by many.

She and Don found their happy place on the water, spending years aboard their boat, The High Life, in Newport. Later in life, Carole discovered diamond art and made it her passion. When she moved to Eisenberg Assisted Living, she introduced it to her fellow residents, who started a diamond art group of their own. She cherished every moment with her family and friends, and she met each day with gratitude and optimism, always calling hers a “wonderful life.”

She is survived by her daughter, Laura Jacobson of Holden; her son, Robert Jacobson and his wife Julie of New Hampshire; her granddaughter, Alyssa and her husband Michael Doggett of Paxton; her great-grandchildren Madison and Teagan; her sister, Ina Jacobs of Maryland; her brother, Harris Jacobs of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews, including Michael and Monica Thomas, David and Kristie Thomas, Scott and Sarah Bondi, along with their children; and her lifelong friend Judy Markowitz, and her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Don, and her grandson, Matthew Jacobson.

Carole’s family wishes to thank the caregivers at Eisenberg Assisted Living, where she made her home for the last three years, and the teams at the Jewish Healthcare Center and St. Vincent Hospital, for treating her with such kindness and compassion.

Family and Friends will gather to honor Carole's memory at a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 19th at the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester. Interment will follow at Mooreland Cemetery, 261 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Memorial Observance will be announced.  Arrangements are in the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
