Cecil D. Everett

Worcester – Cecil D. Everett, 95, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 19, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Born in Elkins, West Virginia, he was the beloved son of the late Claude and Olive (Isner) Everett. He graduated from Elkins High School as a member of the Class of 1943.

Cecil proudly served his country in the United States Navy before embarking on a distinguished career in drafting and mechanical engineering. Over the years, he lived in West Virginia, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania before making Worcester his home. In 1979, he married the love of his life, Carolyn (Whitcomb) Everett, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and friendship. Cecil worked for many years as a mechanical engineer at Norton Company, Warner & Swasey Co., as well as Pratt & Whitney Co.

A devoted member of Greendale People's Church for many years, Cecil faithfully served his church family in numerous capacities. He shared his love of music as the church music librarian, sang in the choir for many years and nurtured the spiritual growth of others as Sunday School Supervisor. His unwavering faith, servant's heart, and willingness to lend a helping hand touched the lives of many within the congregation. He was also a long-time member of the Greendale Retired Men's Club, where he formed lasting friendships and enjoyed the fellowship of many dear friends. Above all, Cecil cherished his family.

Cecil was predeceased by his beloved wife of 30 years, Carolyn (Whitcomb) Everett, who passed away in 2009.

He leaves behind his loving children: Linda Marcotte and her husband, Jude, of Nashua, NH; Robert Everett and his wife, Beatrice, of Hubbardston; Donna Sewall and her husband, Curt, of Clearwater, FL; Sue-Anne Dolan and her husband, William, of Worcester, Charles Hill and his wife, Danielle of Boylston; Robin Ward of Holden; Nancy Smith and her husband, Kevin, of Worcester. He is also survived by his siblings, Melva Newman of PA, Gerald Everett and his wife, Rosie, of NC, and Carol Brown of TX; his daughter-in-law, Deborah Hill of Woodstock, CT; his 18 cherished grandchildren; 34 treasured great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply. Cecil was also predeceased his son, James Hill and his daughter, Jane Boyd; and his son-in-law, James Ward.

Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in celebration of Cecil's life at a memorial service on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Greendale People's Church, 25 Francis Street, Worcester, MA 01606.  Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
