Princeton – Charles F. “Charlie” Albrecht, 79, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Leaving his family devastated and unable to comprehend their loss.

Born in Holden, he was the son of the late Leslie and Elvira (Horstman) Albrecht. Charlie was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era serving abord the USS Harland Dixon.

Following his military service, Charlie began a long career with Heald Machine Company. In time, he married the love of his life, Linda (Hassan). Together they made their home in Princeton, where they raised their daughter and built a life centered on family, community, and enduring love, sharing 55 years of marriage.

Charlie had a deep commitment to his community and devoted many years to the Princeton Fire Department. He earned the respect and appreciation of his fellow firefighters and neighbors alike for his dedication and steady leadership. Over the course of his service, he held several leadership roles, retiring as Deputy Chief. During this time, he also served as Superintendent of the Princeton Highway Department. He was also a longtime member of the American Legion Post 189 and the Holden Grange.

Charlie will be lovingly missed and remembered by his devoted wife, Linda (Hassan) Albrecht; his daughter, Heidi Baker and her husband, Charlie Baker, of Sterling; his cherished grandchildren, Kyle Bacon and Madisyn Bacon and her partner Kyle Finn; and his great-grandson, Coltyn Hunter Francis Finn.

Funeral arrangements will be with military honors and are private and under the care of Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Princeton Fire Department, 8 Town Hall Drive, Princeton, MA 01541.
