STERLING – Christopher J. Garbely, 52, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2019 at UMass Memorial Healthcare – Memorial Campus after an illness. He was born in Trenton, NJ, and had lived in New Jersey and Pennsylvania before moving to Sterling in 1993.
He leaves his parents, Joseph R. and Barbara S. (Paller) Garbely of Marston Mills; his brother, Joseph M. Garbely and his wife, Patricia of Royersford, PA; his sister, Sandra Ann Kerkovich and her husband, Heath of Bishopville, MD; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Christopher attended the ASPiRE Day Program in Worcester for many years which is part of the Seven Hills Foundation. He attended St. Edward the Confessor Church in Westminster and was a former member of Holy Assumption Parish in Roebling, NJ. He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching local and college baseball games. He also enjoyed shopping for new clothes and being outdoors on a sunny day. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and his many dear friends.
A memorial service celebrating Christopher’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18th in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. A private committal service will be held at Holy Assumption Cemetery in Roebling, NJ.
