HOLDEN, MA / PALM HARBOR, FL – Clara “Nana” Odelia (Horstman) Burnham, 91, formerly of Holden, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2013 in Palm Harbor. She was born and raised in Holden, daughter of Frederick and Clara Odelia Horstman, and lived in Holden most of her life until retiring to Palm Harbor 10 years ago.
Clara leaves her husband of 73 years, Charles H. Burnham; her son, David A. Burnham and his wife Theresa of Princeton; two sisters, Betty Kneeland and Ruth Burbank; two granddaughters, Kimberly Keefe and her husband Richard of Kanazawa, Japan and Heather Ericson of Rutland; three grandsons, Jack Carlson of Grafton, Christopher Carlson and his wife Tricia of Rutland and Eric Carlson and his wife Dayana of Fitchburg; six great-grandchildren, Brody, Liam, Sophia and Jake Carlson, Teaghan Keefe and Hailey Ericson. She was predeceased by a sister, Marjorie Howard and a brother, Frederick Horstman, Jr.
She attended Unionville Elementary School in Holden and graduated West Boylston High School. For over 30 years, she was the cafeteria manager at the Margery A. Rice Elementary School in Holden. Nana was a loving and caring person who enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service in Celebration of her life at 2 p.m., on Saturday, August 10, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
