HOLDEN – Arline (Curtis) Cousineau, 80, of Flagler Drive, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010 in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, after a brief illness.
She leaves her son, Louis Coates and his wife Rose, her son James Coates and his wife Patricia; her daughter Linda Korczynski and her husband Eugene, and her daughter Susan Norling and her husband Ronald; three brothers, Frank, John and Paul Curtis; two sisters, Louise Owens and Flora Curtis; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her daughter, Gail Coates, died in 1977.
Mrs. Cousineau was born in Springfield, the daughter of George M. and Mary G. (Smith) Curtis and was a long time resident of Holden. She attended Commerce High School in Worcester. Mrs. Cousineau worked as a secretary for the Worcester Child Development Head Start program for 30 years and retired in 2000. She was a member of St. George's Church and enjoyed needlepoint, cross stitching and was an accomplished seamstress. She was known for her enthusiastic spirit and was game for anything!
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2nd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 3rd, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. George's Church, 40 Brattle Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
