HOLDEN – David R. Fraser, 70, of Mark Bradford Dr., died in his home with his family at his side on Monday, January 21, 2013. Dave was born in Worcester, the son of Roy and Betty Jane (Spongberg) Fraser and was a lifelong Holden resident.
Dave is survived and will be dearly missed by his three daughters, Terry L. Fraser of Holden with whom he lived, Kelly A. Montonari and her husband Anthony of Shrewsbury and Tara E. Meyer of Holden; his former wife, Janice (Dufva) Johnson and her husband Edward of Ocala, Florida; two brothers, Paul A. Fraser and Roy Fraser III both of Holden; a grandson, Patrick Meyer; one niece and three nephews.
After graduating from Wachusett High School with the class of 1960, Dave went on to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. His career that followed demonstrated his dedication to serving and protecting others. Dave served as a full-time Holden police officer and upon retirement, worked in the field of security for several companies in the Worcester area. Dave was a member of the Chaffin Congregational Church in Holden. He was devoted to his family and friends and was an avid outdoorsman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial calling hours from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, followed by a memorial service honoring Dave’s life at 2 p.m. at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Burial will be private at a later date at Grove Cemetery, Holden. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Holden Police Association, 1370 Main St., Holden, MA 01520 or to the Holden Senior Center Endowment Fund, 1130 Main St., Holden, MA 01520.
