OAKHAM - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Gregory Hutchinson, 32, who passed away January 29, 2026. He was born in Boston and raised in Oakham, Massachusetts.
David is the son of Greg and Susan (Lajoie) Hutchinson of Oakham. He leaves his maternal grandmother, Earlene Lajoie of Athol, brother Greg and his wife Danielle Hutchinson along with their 2 children of North Brookfield, his sister Jessica and her husband Michael Olson along with their 3 children of Leicester, brother Zachary of Sterling, sisters Jahlynia of Devens, Linessa and Janelle of Oakham as well as his sister Danielle and her husband Roberto and their 2 children of Orlando, Florida, sister Darcell Clare and her daughter of Lynn and brother Derek Clare, his wife Megan along with their 4 children of Melrose. He also leaves several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Lionel “Lee” Lajoie Jr., his uncle Bob Lajoie, his paternal grandparents Eugene and Florence Hutchinson and his life long friend, Patrick McGlynn.
David was a 2012 graduate of Quabbin Regional High School and then Rob Roy Academy in Worcester. He worked as a licensed barber at The Sharpest Edge in Ware for several years and most recently at Euphoria Barbershop in Cambridge.
David’s love was sports, he was a talented athlete who played baseball, basketball, soccer and football from elementary school through graduation from high school and then on local basketball and baseball leagues. He enjoyed camping at Branch Lake in Maine, kayaking and fishing with his “Papa”, Lee Lajoie. He also loved a good wiffle ball or football game with his brother and cousins at family parties.
David will be remembered for his deep love and devotion to his family and friends, his adventurous, fun and happy personality.
A memorial service will be held on March 8, 2026 at 1:00pm at the Oakham Congregational Church, 4 Coldbrook Rd. Oakham, MA with a Celebration of Life immediately after for family and friends to share memories and stories at Charlie’s Diner, 5 Meadow Rd. Spencer, MA. Burial will be at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery in Oakham.
