HOLDEN – Dean A. Andrews, 78, beloved husband of Betty (Boardman) Andrews, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Born in Evanston, IL and raised in Franklin Park, IL, he was the son of the late Doyll and Margaret (Mollnhauer) Andrews.
Dean attended Concordia College High School in Milwaukee WI for three years, where he excelled on the swimming team. He graduated from West Leyden High School in Northlake, IL in 1966. Dean went on to further his education at Wartburg College in Waverly, IA, graduating in 1970.
He enjoyed a long career in sales in the medical manufacturing field and was V.P. of Sales for T.M. Electronics in Worcester for 25 years. Previously he was Head of Sales at Metrix, Co. in Dubuque, IA and General Manager at Riggs Biochemical in Sioux City and Dubuque, IA and Denver, CO. Dean retired in 2012 after many years of dedicated service.
Dean and Betty traveled often, with a special fondness for visiting the National Parks, as well as Puerto Rico. He was an active member of Oakdale United Methodist Church, where he served in many leadership positions, but especially enjoyed teaching Sunday School and leading the children in music. His passion was music and he was a talented guitar and banjo player, serving as music leader on several Walk to Emmaus teams. In recent years he found pleasure working on 3D models and 1000-piece puzzles.
Dean was devoted to his family and loved attending and supporting his children's and grandchildren’s many and various activities through the years. Whether sporting events, musical concerts, dance recitals, Scouts or church youth group activities, he’d be there if he could.
He will be lovingly missed and remembered by his wife of 55 years, Betty; his three sons, Nathan Andrews and his wife, Brenna of Milton, MA, Mark Andrews of Austin, TX and Philip Andrews and his wife, Laura of Clinton; his siblings including Doyll Andrews, Jr., Scott Andrews and Megan Andrews; and his grandchildren, Hannah Andrews of Raleigh, NC and Dillon Andrews of Milton, MA.
