Donald F. Basinsky passed away peacefully, Saturday February 7, 2026 at Baystate Hospital in Palmer Massachusetts. Born in Webster MA, he was the son of the late Alfred A. and Milda (Siegmund) Basinsky.
Donald grew up in Webster and attended Webster high school. Following the passing of his mother, Donald promptly entered the workforce. Donald spent most of his career as a machinist and spent over thirty-five years at the Norton Co. In addition, Donald had a few concurrent jobs over the years including; Home Depot, the Gulf station in Jefferson, and Wyman Gordan.
Shortly after beginning his career, Donald met his loving wife Isabell (Moss) in 1956. The couple shared 63 years together in Holden before Isabell passed in 2019.
Donald was known for a pristine yard. On the weekends, you could find him outside doing yardwork and enjoying the outdoors. He competed in a softball league with his team the Silver sneakers, with whom he was featured in the newspaper. Additionally, he was featured again in the newspaper for winning a horseshoe competition. When the weather did not cooperate Donald could be found playing a computer game.
Donald is predeceased by his siblings; Robert Basinsky, Thelma Ascerni, and Eleanor Basinsky.
Donald is survived by his loving children; Steve (Donna) Basinsky of Oakham, and Donna (Kevin) Pella of Warren. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 8 more great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Thursday February 12, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by a service at the funeral home located at 1158 Main St, Holden, MA 01520. Immediately after, interment will take place at Worcester County Memorial Park.
