Donald R. Oberg

Jul 10, 1939 — Jul 6, 2026

Princeton

Princeton - Donald R. Oberg, 86, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026. He is the loving husband of the late Ann T. (Hunt) Oberg who predeceased him in 2021.

Born in Holden, Donald was the son of Harold and Marjorie (Edwards) Oberg. Raised in Worcester, he attended Boy's Trade High School before beginning a lifelong career as a mechanic. He spent many years at Harr Ford and later retired from Ruby Electric, where he was able to repair just about any motor that came through the shop. Donald met the love of his life, Ann, on a blind date, and together they shared more than 58 years of marriage while raising a family.

A true outdoorsman, Donald found his greatest enjoyment fishing, hunting, and camping whenever he had the chance. He was also a devoted Boston sports fan, cheering on the Patriots and Red Sox. Above all, he took immense pride in the family he and Ann built together. He treasured time with his grandchildren, patiently passing along his knowledge of repairing cars, engines, and motors of every kind, leaving them with skills and memories they will carry for years to come. He was also a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus.

Donald leaves behind his daughters, Bonnie Marrone and her husband Richard of Hardwick, and Robin Ouellette of Spencer; and his grandchildren, Angela, Austin, Kyle, and Emily Marrone, and DJ and Nicole Ouellette. He is predeceased by his wife Ann, and his grandson Joshua Marrone.
