E. Paul Dupré

WORCESTER/SHREWSBURY – E. Paul Dupré of Shrewsbury passed away peacefully at the Lutheran Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center in Worcester on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 after a courageous battle with a long-time illness.

He was predeceased by his late wife and best friend of 56 years, Marlene (Harris) Dupré in 2019. He leaves behind a daughter, Michelle (Dupré) and husband, John Liberty of Shrewsbury; two sons, David Dupré and his wife, Shelley of Fitchburg and Robert Dupré and his fiancée, Nicole Prunier of New Braintree; daughter-in-law, Hilary Dupré of Shrewsbury; seven grandchildren, Christina, Marissa, Nicole, Lisa, PJ, Jonathan, Johnny; one great-grandchild, Beckham; his brother, Pete and his wife, Pat Dupré of Shrewsbury; a sister, Nancy Dupré of Henderson, NV, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald and Linda Harris of Holden, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Cheryl Medeiros of Poughkeepsie, NY. He was also predeceased by a sister, Marilyn Dupré of Worcester.

Paul was born in Worcester, son of the late Roland and Laura Dupré. Paul graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School where he also excelled in sports and was proud to play quarterback on the 1955 Worcester City Champs High School Football Team. He then served honorably in the US Marine Corps as a Combat Engineer assigned to the 2nd Bridge Co., Camp Lejeune, NC.

After military service Paul pursued his profession and was a past member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #4 in Worcester where he then ultimately became the Founder, President and Owner of Paragon Plumbing and Heating Inc. in Worcester for many years. Paul was also a Real Estate Developer and owner of Glendale Marine Ltd. on Lake Winnipesaukee in NH. Some of his other accomplishments would include serving as State President for Massachusetts Association of Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors (MPHCC), President of the Associated Subcontractors of Massachusetts, Inc (ASM). and he also served on the Board of Directors for the New England Mechanical Contractors Association (NEMCA) as well as many other committee and board positions.

He was an avid Boston sports fan and loved the outdoors whether it be time spent fishing for salmon in Canada, or the annual hunting trips with family members and close friends in the Berkshires or up in the deep woods of Maine. His greatest love and pride and joy were his grandchildren. Whether it be a hockey game, cheerleading event, tennis match or gymnastics meet, you could also count on seeing your #1 fan, “Pepere” in the crowd cheering you on. He will be greatly missed, but has now been reunited with the love of his life, Marlene.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, August 11th at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 12th at St Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 22 Boylston St., Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-MA/RI Chapter, 220N. Main St., Suite 104, Natick, MA 01760.
