Earle M. Skiest

WORCESTER – Earle M. Skiest, age 96, died peacefully on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester after a period of declining health, with his devoted wife and her daughter Lauri by his side. Born in Worcester, Earle was the son of Hymen and Dorothy (Brickman) Skiest, and after stops in Charlotte, NC, Glens Falls, NY, and South Bend, IN, lived most of his life in Worcester.

After graduating from Classical High School, Earle earned an Associate Degree in Business from Bentley College. Earle settled in Worcester with his first wife, Nessa, where they raised their family. Earle and Nessa were happily married for 39 years until her passing. For many years Earle operated The Paris Curtain Shop in Worcester, a Front Street fixture for decades. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard Reserves. He was also a lifelong member of Congregation Beth Israel.

Earle will be lovingly missed and remembered by his devoted wife, Rosalind “Roz” (Greece) Rosenberg, his children, Rebecca Simon and her husband, Gregg , Jonathan Skiest and his wife Joy, and Stephen Skiest and his wife Dorie; his cherished grandchildren Jessica and her husband Dave Rodriguez, Spencer Simon and his wife Nina Jayashankar, Jacob Simon, Nora Skiest, Emma Skiest, James Skiest and Natalie Skiest, his step children, Lauri Rosenberg, Paul Rosenberg, Nancy Carter and her husband Peter, and his step grandchildren, Jesse Carter, Lucas Carter, and Lilly Rosenberg. He was predeceased by his first wife, Nessa (Stahl) in 1996, and his brothers, Eugene Skiest in 2024, and Gerald Skiest in 2015.

Family and friends will gather to honor Earle’s memory at his Funeral Service at 12:00 PM on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Congregation Beth Israel, 15 Jamesbury Drive, Worcester. Interment will follow at B’nai Brith Cemetery, 55 St. John’s Road, Worcester. There will be a Shiva at Congregation Beth Israel immediately following the interment until 5:00 PM. Arrangements are in the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
