BOYLSTON – John “Bub Bub” Emmett Dunlavey, 80, of Cook Street, Boylston died in UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, after an illness.
His leaves his wife of 59 years, Florence M. (Patrick) Dunlavey; a son, Bryan P. Dunlavey and his wife Kelly of Boylston; a daughter, Sheila A. Miller and her husband David of Boylston; two brothers, Patrick E. Dunlavey of Templeton and Morris E. Dunlavey of Cowansville, Quebec, Canada; a sister, Wilma G. Forand of Bakersfield, VT; five grandchildren, Shaughn, Shannon, Erin, Joel, and Shelby and her husband Dan Pickett; three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Delany and Patrick; many nieces and nephews. Four sisters, Winifred McMahon, Eileen Campbell, Edna Dunn and Marie Choquette, predeceased him. He was born in West Shefford, Quebec, Canada, son of William E. and Mary Rachel (Morris) Dunlavey, and has lived in Boylston since 1964.
Mr. Dunlavey was a master electrician and owned and operated Morningdale Electrical Supply Company in Leominster for over 20 years. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and the Boylston Lions Club. He also contributed to various charities and was extremely generous in reaching out to those in need.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 7th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 8th, in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boylston Lions Club, in memory of John E. Dunlavey, P.O. Box 50, Boylston, MA 01505.
