Eleanor Hartman Fertel, age 95, passed peacefully with her daughters at her side on May 31, 2025 after a period of declining health. She is survived by her daughters, Holly Allen and Marcy Shuster, her son-in-law Fred, her grandchildren Abby (Meg Tiley) and Sam (Michelle O’Donnell), and her nephew Dan Hartman (Dawn Goralewicz).

Eleanor was born in Boston, the daughter of Harry and Fannie Hartman. She was educated in the Boston public schools and worked in the Newton After School Program.
