WORCESTER - Eleftherios “Teddy” Stratis, age 84, passed away peacefully at his home on May 31, 2025. Teddy spent his formative years living in Ioannina, Greece and migrated with his family to Worcester, MA when he was 17 years old. Shortly after arriving in Worcester, Teddy met the love of his life, Georgia Pappas, who the first time he spoke with her told her that he was going to marry her someday, and they remained married for over 50 years until Georgia’s passing in 2015.
Teddy became a United States citizen in 1978, but he remained passionate about his Greek heritage. He was a long-term member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Worcester, MA, even serving on the Board at one time, St. Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Shrine Church in Long Island, NY, St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Monastery, in Goldendale, WA, and I Agappe Markella, Hios, Greece.
Teddy was born November 21, 1940, the son of Dimitrios and Despoula Stratis, and married Georgia (Pappas) Stratis, on June 17, 1962. A loving husband, caring father and grandfather. Teddy devoted himself to his children James and Sandra, wife of Keary Allicon, as well as his granddaughters Miranda and Juliana Allicon. Teddy is survived by his daughter and grandchildren as well as his many cousins and Godchildren.
Teddy spent over 30 years working with his wife and children in the family business, Foxborough House of Pizza, and is appreciated by the Foxborough Community for his charitable contributions and giving spirit. He additionally worked for Table Talk not long after arriving in Worcester and owned and operated numerous restaurants over the years in places such as Stoneham, Belmont, Watertown, Sutton, and even Orange, CA.
Teddy had many great loves and passions in his life, Georgia, soccer (“futbol”), and horse racing. But none of them compared to the love he held for his two granddaughters, Miranda and Juliana. Upon Georgia’s passing, Teddy immediately and excitedly moved in with Sandra and Keary so that he could actively engage in the girls’ teen years, with his advice, help with homework, and spoiling them, any chance he could.
