WHITINSVILLE - Elizabeth “Betty” D. Spratt, 94, passed away February 15, 2026, after a period of declining health in Knollwood Nursing Center in Worcester.

She was born on June 24, 1931, to Gwendolyn (Taggart) McGilton and Rev. Dr. Adam Clark McGilton of Uxbridge.

Betty leaves four children, Dianne Stevens (John Thibodeau) of Whitinsville, Deborah King (Glenn) of Whitinsville, Barbara Brown (Christopher) of Port St Lucie, FL, and Norman “Skip” Spratt (Dawn) of Berlin, NJ. She also leaves 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, Jessica Toll (Chris) daughters Elsa and Vivian of Maine, Katie Stevens and her son Charles Rollins III of Webster, Becky Brower (Brandon) and daughters Mackenzie and Madison of Northbridge, Philip Brown (Nehali Patel) and their daughters Alia and Jiya of Miami, FL, Nathan King of Whitinsville, Chelsea Schaefer (Ben) and their children Lincoln and Joy of Bow, NH, and Andrew and Amanda Spratt of Berlin, NJ.

Betty was a graduate of Uxbridge High School Class of 1948. In 1953, she married Norman N. Spratt of Whitinsville who predeceased her in 2008. They were married 55 years. They lived in Whitinsville for 25 years before moving to Cape Elizabeth, ME in 1980 where they resided until moving back to Massachusetts in 1994 to be closer to family. She and Norman moved to Briarwood Retirement Community in 2004.

Betty worked at the Whitinsville Social Library on the Circulation Desk for many years before moving to Maine. She later retired from the Portland Public Library. She sang with the Worcester Chorus, the Portland Choral Arts Society and as a soloist at weddings and funerals for many years. She had been a member of the Whitinsville and the Cape Elizabeth Methodist Churches and their choirs as well as Salem Covenant Church in Worcester.

She married her second husband, Clesson A. Robbins, whom she met at Briarwood, in 2013. They were married almost 6 years before he passed away in 2019. She was also predeceased by her sister, Gwendolyn “Peggy” Warren of Utah.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:00 am in the Loring Auditorium at Briarwood Continuing Care Retirement Community, 65 Briarwood Circle, Worcester, MA 01606.

Burial will be held privately.

 In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Briarwood Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), 65 Briarwood Circle, Worcester, MA 01606.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
