HOLDEN – Thomas E. Ventres, Sr., 65, of Holden formerly of Worcester, died Monday, July 23, 2007, in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 42 years, Muriel G. (Wanamaker) Ventres; two sons, Thomas E. Ventres, Jr. of Coatesville, Pennsylvania and Todd M. Ventres of Holden; a daughter, Angela M. Connors of Rutland; three sisters, Carole Beck of Ashburnham, Joan Daniels of Paxton and Susan Candela of Grafton; four grandchildren, Michael, Cameron, Tanyon and Paige; many nephews and nieces. He was the son of Elio C. and Louise (Groccia) Ventres and has lived in Holden since 1998. He was a member of the Army National Guards.
For 26 years, Mr. Ventres was a Police Officer for the City of Worcester, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church and the International Brotherhood of Police Officers. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed golfing.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 27th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mr. Ventres will be held on Saturday, July 28th, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton.
