JEFFERSON – Farrell J. O’Connor, 68, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026 with his wife and daughter by his side. He is the loving husband of Joanne (Bossio) O’Connor with whom he would have celebrated 40 years of marriage.
Born in Berlin, New Hampshire, he is the son of the late Farrell and Irene (Jacques) O’Connor. An outdoorsman from the start, he graduated from the University of New Hampshire with his forestry degree and spent a number of years working in Virginia with the Defense Mapping Agency. He met the love of his life, Joanne Bossio, and together they moved to Wolfeboro, New Hampshire to begin a family. Farrell’s work eventually moved them to Massachusetts where they settled in Jefferson. Farrell loved to do anything outside, whether it was hiking, skiing, or cross-country skiing to name a few, and above all loved to spend time with his family. His kind heart and great sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Along with his wife, Farrell leaves behind his daughter Lauren O’Connor and her husband Tiago Valente of New Jersey, his beloved grandchildren, Antonio and Cristina Valente; his siblings, Mary LaVoie, Francis O’Connor, Catherine O’Connor, Brenda Deutsch, and Kevin O’Connor; and many cherished nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother James O’Connor.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, June 19th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street in Holden. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Massachusetts Organization for Addiction Recovery at https://www.moar-recovery.org/.
