Francis L. Rimbach

June 18, 1926 — January 2, 2006

BREWSTER / STERLING – Francis L. Rimbach, Jr., 79, formerly of Sterling, died Monday, January 2, 2006 from complications associated with Leukemia in Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis.

His wife Joan (McElroy) Rimbach, died in 1997. He leaves his son, Jonathan L. Rimbach of Cambridge, MA; his daughter, Lisa A. Rimbach of Centerville; a brother, Douglas Rimbach of Mattapoisett; a sister, Marella Guigou of Piedmont, CA; a sister, Caroline Woodbury predeceased him. He was born in Concord, MA the son of Francis L. and Pearl (Darling) Rimbach, Sr., and lived in Sterling for many years.

Francis graduated from Cushing Academy and Dartmouth College. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, serving aboard the USS Nassau. He retired as a Lt. Commander after serving in the US Navy and US Naval Reserves. He was a residential and commercial Real Estate Broker in Fitchburg, Cape Cod and Florida for 40 years. Serving 13 years as the Director of the North Central Massachusetts Association of Realtors. He owned and operated F.L. Rimbach Insurance Agency in Fitchburg for many years.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2006, at 11:30 a.m., at Oakhill Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte 62), Sterling. There are no Calling hours. An informal reception with family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 7, at 4:00 p.m., in his home at 60 Puritan Drive, Brewster, MA. For more information please call 508-364-2830. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte 12), Sterling is directing arrangements.
