Fred F. Adamowicz

EUCLID, OHIO – Fred F. Adamowicz, 79, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester, MA after a brief illness. He was born in Euclid, the son of John and Sally (Banaszek) Adamowicz and had lived in Sun Lakes, AZ for 16 years before moving to Rutland, MA in 2006.

His loving wife of 49 years, Patricia J. (Mikolsky) Adamowicz, passed away in 2005. He leaves two sons, Michael F. Adamowicz of Mesa, AZ and Mark S. Adamowicz and his wife, Julie of Mission Viejo, CA; one daughter, Jaclyn Reding and her husband, Steven of Rutland, MA; a brother, James W. Adamowicz of Avon Lake, OH; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and ten nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his son, John C. Adamowicz in 2004.

Fred graduated from Euclid Senior High School in 1953 before enlisting in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his service to his country, Fred attended John Carroll University, was a minor league catcher for the Cleveland Indians, and played hockey for the Cleveland Jr. Barons. Fred worked in the steel industry for over 50 years. He owned A-Z Steel Detailing in Sun Lakes, AZ for sixteen years before retiring in 2006. In his leisure, Fred loved to cruise and travel to Hawaii. His greatest enjoyment was watching his grandsons play hockey.

A private Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Columbia Church in Paxton, MA. A committal service will be held at 12 noon on Sat. Nov. 1, at All Souls Cemetery, 10366 Chardon Street, Chardon.
