West Boylston

WEST BOYLSTON - With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Gayle Marie Leslie, who left this world peacefully on May 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Gayle was a woman of grace, strength, and unmistakable style. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—sunny days, the sound of waves at the beach, and the beauty of a well-put-together outfit that reflected her vibrant spirit.

Gayle was born on December 16, 1959, in Worcester, Massachusetts, and grew up in Rutland, MA, where she made lifelong memories with her family and friends. She was the beloved daughter of Barbara McCabe Leslie and Edmond Leslie, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her cherished brother, Gary Leslie, and her devoted longtime partner, Dan Reardon of West Boylston, MA, with whom she shared many meaningful years.

Gayle is survived by her loving siblings: Debbra Medina and her husband Rodney of Las Vegas; RoseAnn Berthiaume and her husband Gary of Rutland, MA; and her brother Edmond D. Leslie of Holden, MA.

Her greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind her devoted daughter Alyshia Abbascia of Raleigh, NC; her son James Valis and his wife Lori of Hopkinton, MA; and her son Jason Abbascia and his wife Dalva, and Dalva’s son Pedro, of Hudson, MA. Her legacy shines brightly in her beloved grandchildren: Elena and Jenna, daughters of James and Lori; Julian, son of Alyshia; and Josiah, Micah, and Mykaella, children of Jason.

Gayle also leaves behind a wide circle of extended family who meant the world to her, including many wonderful nieces and nephews, along with numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Her warmth, humor, and unmistakable presence touched all who knew her.

In addition to her love of sunshine and days by the ocean, Gayle had a true passion for Christmas and the holiday season. She took great joy in creating a warm, magical atmosphere, often spending countless hours making sure the Christmas tree sparkled with beauty and care — a reflection of the love she poured into everything she touched.

Gayle also held a special place in her heart for animals, especially her cherished kittens—Midnight, Creamy, and Lilly, to name a few. Their companionship brought her comfort, laughter, and love throughout the years.

Though her time with us was shortened by illness, Gayle's spirit remained full of light, love, and style until the end. She now rests in peace, reunited with those who went before her, and forever held in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Calling Hours will be held at Miles Funeral Home, located at 1158 Main Street, Holden, MA 01520, on Thursday, June 5th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, followed by a Prayer Service at the funeral home. Burial will be private for the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gayle’s memory may be made to the American Liver Foundation, the National Kidney Foundation or New Hope Inc. in Worcester, MA organizations close to her heart.
