George W. Plant

WORCESTER – George W. Plant, 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Worcester, surrounded by the love of his beloved wife, Deborah.

Born and raised in Worcester, George was the son of the late George and Laura B. (Butler) Plant. He attended Worcester Public Schools and was a graduate of Commerce High School, Class of 1964.

Following high school, George began a 25-year career with Jamesbury Corporation in Shrewsbury. In 1983, he met Deborah Moisan through mutual friends. The two began dating and, on September 15, 1984, were married at Belmont Street Baptist Church. They settled in Worcester, where they built a wonderful life together and made their house a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

George had many passions throughout his life. He especially enjoyed umpiring Little League baseball, including Connie Mack games at Green Hill Park. He and Deborah looked forward to their yearly cruises to Bermuda and enjoyed traveling together, including trips to Hershey. George also loved playing basketball with the neighborhood children, baseball, and cooking. Above all, though, he treasured the time he spent with his family and friends.

George leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Deborah L. Plant of Worcester; his sister, Judith Boucher and her husband, Robert, of Paxton; as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and countless cherished friends who will miss him dearly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton.
