BARRE – Gilman “Gilly” F. Connor, 87, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center after an illness. He was born and raised in Rutland, the son of Thomas H. and Margaret F. (Holland) Connor, Jr. and was the brother of Thomas, Ruth and Madelyn.
Gilman leaves his loving wife of 59 years, Lorraine M. (Wright) Connor; and many nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces and cousins.
Gilman was an Army veteran of World War II serving with Troop C 4th Constabulary Squadron. He was a maintenance man and truck driver for many years at Holden Trap Rock Company before retiring. Gilman was an amateur photographer, enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a member of the NRA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 3, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Funeral services for Gilman will be held at 12 p.m. on Mar. 4, in the funeral home followed by a committal service at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Please omit flowers.
