WORCESTER – Helen T. (Lizewski) Hanson, 86, died Saturday, November 28, 2009 in St. Mary's Healthcare Center, Worcester after an illness.
Her husband John F. Hanson, Sr. died in 1987. She leaves her step-son, John Hanson and his wife Judy of Florida; her sister, Jennie Ouillett of Hyannis; three step-grandchildren, Sheri, Tammy and John; several nieces and nephews including her niece and caregiver, Carol Borci and her husband John of Jefferson, as well as her niece, Joanne DeMauro of Bellingham. She was predeceased by four brothers, Benjamin, Edward, Henry and Carl Lizewski and two sisters, Anna Sklarz and Elizabeth McLaughlin.
Helen was born and raised in Sterling the daughter of Adam and Michalena (Zarko) Lizewski and lived most of her life in Worcester. She worked for Brown Shoe in Worcester for over 40 years as a stitcher and enjoyed ceramics and crafts.
Relatives and friends are invited to a calling hour at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2nd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
