Helene I. Kent

WORCESTER - Helene I. Kent, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2026, at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester, MA.

Born in Boston, MA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Harry and Marsha Barenberg. After raising her four children, Helene followed her passion for education and enjoyed a long, meaningful teaching career in the Boston Public Schools. An avid writer and voracious reader, Helene found great joy in expressing her creativity and regularly shared her poetry and creative writing with her family and friends.

She is survived by her four children, Harry (and Jacqui), Jack (and Mollee Sue), David (and Sandra), and Karen (and Dan). She was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Zachary, Yael, and Arielle, and the adoring great-grandmother of two great-grandchildren, Breccan and Lenore.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:45 AM on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Sharon Memorial Park, 120 Canton St., Sharon, MA 02067. Arrangements are in the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
