HOLDEN - Henry J. Guilbeault, Jr., died Monday, November 7, 2016 a few weeks before what would have been his 73rd birthday, after a year-long battle with cancer. Henry, or “Hank”, was born in New Bedford to Henry J., Sr., and Ludivinia (Major) Guilbeault. Hank received his Bachelor degree in Chemistry from Southeastern Massachusetts University (currently UMass Dartmouth), and his Master’s degree in Computer Science from Worcester State University. He spent the majority of his career in the pharmaceutical industry, or “heavy drugs”, as he liked to joke. He retired several years ago after spending over 20 years working at Advanced Magnetics in Cambridge. Hank proudly served in the U.S. Army, and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. Hank will be remembered for his love of family and friends, and always being there to help, regardless of the time or need. In addition, he will be remembered for his love of Star Trek. Hank is survived by his wife, Jane A. (Durning); his daughter, Kim Vickerman and her husband, Mark of Annapolis, Maryland. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, John and Kelsey who adored their Pépé. As one of four children, Hank leaves behind his two sisters, Jackie (Guilbeault) Brisson of North Dartmouth and Jeanne of Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard. In addition, he leaves behind many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Hank’s family on Friday, November 11, from 5 to 7p.m. at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
