Hilda M. Witkes

Biography

WORCESTER – Hilda M. (Miller) Witkes, age 98, died Wednesday, March 15th in the Jewish Healthcare Center. Her husband, Morris Witkes died in 1966. She leaves three sons, Gary Witkes and his wife, Tammy of Cleveland, Richard Witkes and his wife, Sarah of New York City and David Witkes and his wife, Chana of Worcester; a daughter, Ruth Witkes of Lynn, MA; two sisters, Beatrice Canan of Worcester and Nancy Gordon of Boston; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had been a teller at the Worcester County National Bank for many years and later for succeeding banks.  She was a member of the Yeshiva Achei Timimim. She was an active volunteer for the blind, transcribing and reading Braille.  GRAVESIDE FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD TODAY, THURSDAY, MARCH 16TH AT A TIME TO BE ANNOUNCED AT HOLY SOCIETY CEMETERY ON CEMETERY ROAD IN LECESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN. Memorial Contributions may be made to Yeshiva Achei Timimim, 22 Newton Avenue, Worcester, 01602.
