S Kathryn H. (Leyden) Gove

HOLDEN – Kathryn H. (Leyden) Gove, 78, of Main Street, a devoted wife and mother, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in her home.
Her husband of 51 years, Leslie W. Gove, Jr. died in 2007. She leaves her faithful son, William L. Gove ; a sister, Maureen Letendre of Spencer; a grandson, Samuel Gove; and nieces and nephews. A brother, James Leyden, predeceased her. She was born in Auburn, son of James and Doris (Gallagher) Leyden, and lived in Holden most of her life
"Sassy", to those who knew and loved her, was a graduate of Commerce High School and worked as an Executive Secretary at Thom McAn Shoe Company in Worcester. She was generous, quick witted, opinionated, who cherished her privacy. With her wonderful sense of humor, charm and warm heart she kept her door open to all who needed her counsel. She was an avid reader, enjoyed music and adored her family.
A private graveside service will be held in the spring at St. Mary's Cemetery, Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
