WORCESTER – Ian J. Carson, 79, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025, at the Odd Fellows Home.
Ian was born on October 13, 1945, in Gardner, MA, to the late Stuart and Esther Carson. He was a proud graduate of Oxford High School, Class of 1963, and went on to join the Army and served in the Vietnam War stationed in Thailand.
He built a long and fulfilling career as a Civil Engineer with Perini Corporation, where he worked for many years before retiring. Ian was known for his love of building model train sets, photography and scuba diving, and he found great joy in traveling and spending time with his animals and had a special love for cats.
Ian met the love of his life, Kathleen Kilcoyne. Together, they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Stuart Carson.
Ian is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Carson of West Boylston; his daughters, Lisa Fernandes of New Hampshire and Sherry Carson of New Hampshire; his three grandchildren, Megan Mactaggart, Maggie and Shawn Fernades and a great grandson Myles Silva.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at North Cemetery, 505 Main Street Oxford, MA.
