November 10, 1938 — February 13, 2023
WORCESTER – Igor Ivanov, 84, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 13, 2023 at
UMASS Memorial Medical Center – University Campus.
Born in Moscow, Russia, Igor was the son of Alexander and Serafima Ivanov. After
earning a Bachelor’s Degree, Igor worked for many years as a Mechanical Engineer for
several companies.
Igor will be lovingly missed and remembered by his sons, Yury Brainin and his wife,
Ekaterina Brainin of New York, and Misha Brainin; his beloved grandchildren Rachel,
Daniel, Ilana, Victor; and his former wife, Lyudmila Brainin of Worcester.
Igor competed in decathlons as a youth and remained active and competitive in various
sports throughout his life.
Igor’s family and friends will gather for a graveside funeral service on Friday, February
17, 2023 at 11:00 am at Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester. Memorial Observance will be announced.
