James J. Chiaravallotti

HOLDEN - James J. Chiaravallotti, 62, passed away on May 12, 2026.

Born in Worcester, he was the beloved son of James E. Chiaravallotti and the late Patricia O'Day. A graduate of Burncoat High School, Jim was among the select few accepted into the Worcester Boys Trade School. He recently retired following 18 years of dedicated service as a correctional officer at the Massachusetts Correctional Facility in Shirley. In addition, he spent many years working as a chef at Barber's Crossing,

Jim was an active and hardworking man who took great pride in caring for his yard and spending time outdoors. Gifted with a natural ability to fix just about anything, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Following in his father's footsteps, he proudly earned his black belt in Taekwondo. He also had a deep love for music and found his greatest peace in the quiet beauty of nature.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Isabella Chiaravallotti of Pembroke and Ruby Bobkowski of Holden; granddaughter Esme Penney; father James E. Chiaravallotti and his wife Karen of Leicester; sisters, Tina Bishop and her husband Jeff Fowler, Lori Chiaravallotti and her husband John Troy, Lisa Chiaravallotti, and Noelle Silberstein. He also leaves behind his dear friend Jimmy Despres, many nieces and nephews, his former wife Cathleen Jordon, and his beloved dog Binda.

He is preceded in death by his mother Patricia O'Day.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Friday, May 22nd from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street in Holden. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM in the funeral home.
