Jane (Lamb) Morris

January 31, 1926 — April 29, 2013

STERLING – Jane (Lamb) Morris, 87, died peacefully on Monday morning, April 29, 2013 in the home of her loving nephew, Jeff Bailey and his wife, Joyce. Jane was born in Worcester, the daughter of Olive (Brown) and Frederick Lamb, and grew up in Northborough. She moved to Sterling 50 years ago.



Jane graduated from Northborough High School as Salutatorian of her class before embarking on a career as a case worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Welfare. She pursued her work for over forty years with passion and dedication. Jane was a lifelong member of Trinity Church in Northborough. She was known as “Aunt Jane” to many loving children who remember her kind heart and giving nature. Jane was an avid reader and was known for the many letters she wrote to friends and family. She was an animal lover and will be dearly missed by her cat “Kiki”.



Jane’s beloved husband, Rodney Morris, died in 1985. She is survived by her sister, Nancy Brinkmann and her husband William of Ellijah, GA; three nieces, Nancy Fisher of PA, Cheryl Bailey of FL and Robin Beauregard and her husband John of Clinton; two nephews, Jeff Bailey and his wife Joyce of Worcester and Charles Morris of Sterling.



A memorial service celebrating Jane’s life will be held at a later date. Interment will be private at Oakhill Cemetery in Sterling. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sterling Animal Shelter, 17 Laurelwood Rd., Sterling, MA 01564. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles-Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling.
