WEST BOYLSTON – Stephen J. Conforti, 56, of 118 North Main Street, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 2, 2008, after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He leaves his wife of 27 years, Suzanne M. (Mantelli) Conforti; two sons, Paul G. and Matthew S. Conforti of West Boylston; a daughter, Angela M. Conforti of West Boylston; his mother, Antoinette M. (Flaminio) Conforti of West Boylston; two sisters, Paulette L. Disinger of Okeechobee, Florida and Anita M. Bergstrom of Worcester; two nieces, Shannon Moore and Valerie Bergstrom; and a nephew, Sean Moore. He was born in Holden, son of the late Paul G. Conforti, and lived in West Boylston all of his life.
Steve was a graduate of West Boylston High School and was a hydraulic technician at Saint-Gobain/Norton Company for 30 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. He coached both West Boylston youth baseball and softball. He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed restoring cars especially his 1969 mustang. His greatest love was his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5th, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. The funeral for Steve will be held on Thursday from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. Burial will follow in High Plains Cemetery, High Street, West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Stephen J. Conforti Memorial Scholarship Fund, West Boylston High School, 125 Crescent Street, West Boylston, MA 01583.
