Jean Charles

December 31, 1962 — December 25, 2025

WORCESTER - Jean Abraham Charles, 62, of Worcester, passed away on December 25, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Nadia (Desir) Charles, with whom he shared 33 loving years of marriage.

Jean was born in Haiti, the son of Abraham and Marianne (Boursiquot) Charles. After high school, he began working as a barber, a profession he proudly continued after moving to the United States, building his career in Brockton.

Jean was the life of every gathering. He loved music, dancing, and making people laugh. His humor, warmth, and companionship will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jean loved his wife deeply. One of his favorite traditions was rearranging and buying her new furniture each New Year. He cherished going shopping for her and making sure she was happy, as her joy was his greatest pride. Seeing her smile whenever he spoiled her brought him immense happiness.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Nadia Charles; his daughters, Sundia Charles Bourdeau and her husband Mike Bourdeau of Gardner, Danielle Cyriaque of Florida; and his sons, Stanley Francois and Norvensky Francois. Although Stanley and Norvensky were his wife’s nephews, Jean raised them as his own sons and proudly spoke of the men they became. His daughter Sundia was the light of his life. Whenever he was with her, he couldn’t help but smile and hug her, overflowing with love. He adored her unconditionally and was incredibly proud of the remarkable person she had become and all that she had accomplished.

Jean was a devoted grandfather to ten grandchildren. His daughter Sundia blessed him with five grandchildren; his daughter Danielle with one; his son Stanley with three; and his son Norvensky with one cherished grandchild. He loved his grandchildren deeply and found immense joy in spoiling them. His five grandchildren from Sundia especially treasured their trips with Grandpa to Walmart, where he happily spent time and money buying toys, moments they always looked forward to. He delighted in treating all his grandchildren to their favorite foods, especially Chinese food, which he often ordered for everyone to share. Jean loved having all his grandchildren together, simply enjoying their company as they sat with him during meals. On special outings, he would take them to Subway, letting each child choose whatever they wanted, and after work, he would often surprise them with pizza. These simple yet meaningful moments were among his most treasured memories, and he cherished every minute spent with his grandchildren.

He also leaves behind his sister, Guylene Charles Tatgrin, and her three daughters, whom he held dear as nieces.
