HOLDEN – Jeanne E. (Bouley) Brewer, 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Worcester, she was the cherished daughter of the late Norman and Blanche M. (Gaucher) Bouley.
Jeanne was raised in Spencer and began her working career at Norton Company, later continuing at Coghlin Companies in Worcester, where she served as a switchboard operator for many years.
She met the love of her life, William Brewer, and together they made their home in Holden, where they raised their family close to relatives who meant so much to her. Jeanne found great joy in gardening and could often be found poring over seed catalogs, happily planning for the next spring season.
A wonderful cook, Jeanne was especially known for her homemade cheesecakes and pecan pies, which were enjoyed by family and friends alike. She and her husband shared a love of travel and spent many years making annual trips to Washington, D.C., where they delighted in visiting places such as the White House and the Supreme Court. She had a passion for music and enjoyed playing the violin and piano in many local symphonies.
Jeanne had a tender heart for animals and, over the years, lovingly took in many strays. Most memorable was her beloved pet crow, Barney, who brought her great companionship and joy.
She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 54 years, William K. Brewer; her sons, Andrew Brewer and his wife, Kellie, of Holden, and Christopher Brewer and his wife, Carrie, of Holden; her sister, Cindy Bird and her husband, William, of Rhode Island; her five grandchildren, Andrew, Jackie, Brianna, John, and Samuel; and her great-grandson, Calvin.
Services will be private. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
