PAXTON - Jeffrey K. Richards, 68, of Paxton, passed away on April 3, 2025, at UMass Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on February 22, 1957, in Worcester, Jeff was the son of the late Gordon and Elizabeth (Lawler) Richards. He grew up locally and was a 1975 graduate of Wachusett Regional High School. Throughout his career, Jeff held a variety of roles including serving with the Paxton Fire Department, working as a janitor at Paxton Center School, and later joining his brother and nephew at Paxton Lawncare.
Jeff was known for his happy-go-lucky nature and infectious personality. He had a deep love for NASCAR, Mopars, and hot rods. Mornings often found him at Forrest's Garage in Paxton, either lending a hand with odd jobs or simply catching up with friends and enjoying the conversation. Whether at family gatherings or just around town, Jeff had a way of making people smile and feel welcome. He especially loved spending time with his nephew Brandon, watching The Three Stooges, and staying connected to his community.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother John Richards, and his sister-in-law Carol Richards.
Jeff is survived by his siblings: Gary Richards and his wife Pamela of Paxton, Marilyn Richards of Leominster, and Glenn Richards and his wife Judy Hanlon of West Boylston. He also leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews, including his sidekick Brandon Richards, Amy Krysiak, Mark Hook, Brett Richards, Lindsay Richards, Melissa Richards, Mike Birkbeck, Chris Birkbeck and Adam Richards, along with many cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and dear friends.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Interment will be private.
