HOLDEN/WORCESTER – James C. Livziey, 40, of Country Hill Road, Jefferson, was stricken ill and passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2008 in Metro West Medical Center, Framingham.
He leaves his wife of 14 years, Georgia M. (Moran) Livziey; a daughter at home, Emma Grace Livziey; his mother, Suzette L. (Ludwig) Livsey of East Aurora, New York; a brother, Mark C. Livsey and his wife Rachael of Troy, New York; two aunts and an uncle, Arlene Knetsch of Williamsville, NY, and Suzanne and John Flint of Spencer.
Jim was born in Buffalo, New York, son of the late Henry G. Livziey, was raised in East Aurora, lived in Cork and Dublin, Ireland, Edinburgh, Scotland, and Worcester for eight years before moving to Holden in 2006. He was a graduate of Greenfield Community College and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He was a five year veteran of the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Valdez, FF 1096, as a Navy Seal during the Persian Gulf War.
Jim worked for Quantum Corporation in Shrewsbury, TekCel in Chelmsford and for the last eight years at Cognex Corporation in Natick. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Jefferson and enjoyed skiing, fly fishing, hiking and golfing.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Jim will be held on Thursday, November 6th, from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden.
