STERLING – Joan M. (Furmanick) Kush-Morse, 71, passed away with her daughter Lisa by her side on Monday, April 1, 2013 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, from injuries sustained in an accident.
She leaves her husband of six years, but together for 32 years, Henry H. Morse; a daughter, Lisa A. Stanislaw of Berlin, NH; three step-children, Carol A. Kaski, Brian H. Morse and Wayne H. Morse, all of Westminster; a sister, Elaine F. Brown of Sterling; two brothers, Richard J. Furmanick and John A. Furmanick, both of Sterling; seven grandchildren, Joshua Sawyer, Laura and Nicole Kaski, Caitlin, Sarah, Nathan and Patrick Morse; several nephews and nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joan was born in Worcester, the daughter of John and Hedwig P. (Sulkoski) Furmanick and had lived her whole life in Sterling. She worked at ITT Surprenant Company in Clinton for over 20 years, until it closed in 2008. She also was a part-time bartender at the 140 Club in Sterling. As a person who loved to express her own options, Joan was a loving and generous person whose home was always open. She enjoyed cooking, camping, shopping, entertaining, trips to Foxwoods, scratch tickets and rides throughout the countryside. Joan will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. A private graveside service will be held at Woodside Cemetery, Westminster. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Massachusetts Humane Society, Inc., P.O. Box 890127, East Weymouth, MA 02189.
